Buy it, use it, break it, fix it... Technologic..

It's hard to pick one particular technology for me since there are so many and I'm a big tech geek. One thing that I like is the synchronization of many platforms. I love that I can place something in my Dropbox and have it on my work computer, my notebook and my mobile. However, if I had to choose just one piece of technology, I would have to say the iPod I got in 2007. Back in the dark ages, my biggest concern was to decide which lot of CDs to bring with me. I had to consider mood, length of the trip, what I’d listened to lately…not to mention the cases to hold them and a cd player, etc. The iPod changed all that. Sure, I had previously started compiling my music electronically in short-life mp3 devices, but Apple brought something totally new with the iPod, and for the first time, all my music could come with me everywhere, all the time. Nowadays, of course, there are numerous devices which might have become more popular, not to mention the iPhone. But, as I am very fond of my iPod and it has never let me down, I must say it was life-changing, even in its small way.

Write about your favourite piece of technology.

Say:

What it is.
When you got it.
How you use it.
How often you use it.
Why you like it.
What life would be like without it.

In love with RH!

My favourite band ever – and I mean it – is Radiohead. I started listening to their records back in the 90’s and haven’t stopped since then. As opposed to most people, I don’t associate their music to being down or anything like that. There are songs of course that literally hurt but that fact only shows that you are alive and, in my opinion, that is a great feeling and one that most brilliant musicians are able to convey with their music.
By the year 2000, a friend and I had created a sort of community for Chilean fans supported by the recording label EMI. Some years later we didn’t have time to take care of that anymore and we eventually gave up on that idea.
2009 was probably the high point of the whole story since Radiohead finally landed on Chilean soil, I went to the airport and saw them from the distance, then I went to the hotel where they were staying and met Thom Yorke, the lead singer and Ed O’Brien, the guitar player. I talked to them and they signed my records, words can’t express my feelings.
During the following days I attended both their concerts, saw them first row and cried when they played my favourite song “How to disappear”. I know it’s probably one of those songs that make you cry, but whatever… I just love it.
Ps: I took that picture myself, lovely, isn't it???

Now you tell me about a singer/band you like or a concert/exhibition you've been to.

You should include:

band / singer >>
- name
- what do you know about them?
- what type of music do they play?
- why do you like this artist/band?
- what's your favorite song? why?
- publish a picture or video
- 120 words minimum
- make 3 comments on your classmates posts.

concert/exhibition >>

- what was it?
- when did you go?
- where was it?
- why did you like it?
- mention more details about it
- publish a related picture or video
- 120 words minimum

Me, Myself and I

I was born in Santiago on February, 19 back in 1982. I come from a very small family, basically my parents and my brother who is three years older than I. My dad is an accountant and my mum was a paramedic, she is now happily retired. My brother works in a computer company and most of the time we do not get along very well. Ten years ago I met Simon, my husband, we now have a six year-old daughter named Lucia, she's the sunshine of my life.

I studied at Colegio Carmela Carvajal since I was 12, however when I was 16 I was let go from the school because I was a little bit of a troublesome kid. I finished high school in some other school. Although I wanted to study film direction, I started studying English Linguistics and Literature at Universidad de Chile in the year 2000. After that I did a diploma in Spanish at Universidad Catolica and next September I am going to York in England to pursue my Master's degree in Phonetics and Phonology.

In my free time, I like listening to music; my favourite band is Radiohead, but I listen to a lot of different bands. I also like watching films, reading and going out with my husband and my daughter. I really enjoy the simple things in life, so spending time with my family is more than enough for me.
